Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington, a Greek American businesswoman and syndicated journalist is also an author. She was co-founder of The Huffington Post, is the CEO and founder of Thrive Global as well an writer of fifteen novels. Arianna Huffington is a writer, philanthropist television host, and proprietor of the independently liberal online newspaper The Huffington Post. Her birthplace is Greece Arianna Huffington came to England with her family at the age of 16. In Cambridge University she earned a MA diploma in Economics. The first graduate from outside the UK to serve as the president of The Cambridge Union at the age 21. After graduation she made her reputation as an editor for a conservative newspaper and, with the advent of The Huffington Post' few months later, she created an online voice portal which gave critical opinions regarding the state of affairs. She was able to get several prominent contributors who posted their thoughts on culture and political issues. Arianna became famous during 2003 when she ran independently in a recall vote in California for the seat of then-Governor Davis. Alongside this she also led the Detroit Project to develop fuel efficient cars. Forbes classified her as the 12th most influential women in the media industry in 2009 and Guardian has also placed her on the Top 100 Media List the same year. In the year 2011, AOL Inc. bought The Huffington Post and made her the head of that media group which included many existing AOL properties too such as Engadget AOL music Style list and Patch Media. Parents were Elli and Konstantinos Stasinopoulos. They were a management consultant and journalist. The couple was close to her father, but it is her bond with her mother who shaped her. In her earliest years, she displayed the ability to lead that has become well known. When she moved to England, she was 16 to continue her education and was accepted into Girton College Cambridge. She joined the Cambridge Union college debate society during her time at college as she was the first woman to serve as the president. In 1972, she earned the degree of Master in Economics. After her graduation she worked as a columnist critic and hosting a show on TV. Her appearance on Face the music with Bernard Levin was also notable. She started writing books and enlisting his assistance to edit.
